Nov 07,  · This album is probably the most popular and important record of the Who's career. The album was recorded at a time when the music recording industry was going through some of the most significant changes in history and this record was an example of what it was like for all bands to set the new standards for using the studio to create new music in a totally new way/5(K).

"Going Mobile" is a song written by Pete Townshend and originally released by the Who on their album Who's Next. It was originally written for Townshend's abandoned Lifehouse project, with lyrics celebrating the joy of having a mobile home and being able to travel the open road. The Who's lead singer Roger Daltrey did not take part in the recording of the song, leaving the rest of the Genre: Rock.

Mar 09,  · The Who is a band I've mentioned before and have even looked at lead singer Roger Daltrey's output, book and album.I own a number of Who albums – not all, unfortunately; I was born too late and getting the older albums is difficult – but, by far, my favourite is Who's Next. The album was borne of an aborted attempt by Pete Townshend to write another rock opera to outdo Tommy.
